It reminds me also American History X and the novel "Matin brun" (from Franck Pavloff). How just a few words, expressions are attitudes can have so many consequences. Then come laws and politics.
I'm afraid that in our so "civilized" capitalistic society we're just discriminating more and more people... Roms, unemployed people, elderlies, teenagers, strangers... There's always a way to criticize and stigmatize them.
